We are recruiting a target-oriented scientist working at the forefront of science, engineering, and technology. As a member of our technical team, you will be responsible for contributing to the process development of our new, safe, and disruptive fluorinating processes and scaling-up our technology. You will be part of a growing team of inspiring and supportive the scientific and operation development of FluoRok – contributing to the revolution of fluorination chemistry worldwide. Key Responsibilities

  • First-hand opportunity to scale-up a range of technologies to industry-relevant kilogram-plus scales
  • Scale-up production of material for customer projects and sampling
  • Design and execute process improvements
  • Contribute to technology transfer documentation for plant production
  • Routinely conduct quality control (QC) and stage-gate analysis of materials
  • Work closely with the R&D and engineering teams to design processes / facilities
  • On-site travel for troubleshooting processes at demonstrator units in the north of England

Essential

  • Degree (BSc/BEng/MChem/MSc/MEng or equivalent) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 3 years’ + experience in a relevant industrial setting such as process chemistry or scale-up role
  • Experience in working on scale using jacketed reactor vessels (>10 L) or equivalent
  • Experience of high containment / high purity target synthesis such as pharmaceuticals or battery materials
  • Experience in carrying out safety assessment of scale-up processes
  • Demonstrable ability to work efficiently on your own or as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills
  • Right to live and work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience in maintaining routine lab equipment
  • Basic engineering knowledge e.g. valves, instruments, connections
  • Scale-up experience in both batch and continuous regimes

Salary range £35,000-£45,000 per annum
