The Production Technician will be an organised and adaptable scientist working at the forefront of science, engineering, and technology. As a member of our technical team, you will be responsible for contributing to the process development of our new, safe, and disruptive fluorinating processes and scaling-up our technology. You will be part of a growing team of inspiring and supportive the scientific and operation development of FluoRok – contributing to the revolution of fluorination chemistry worldwide. Key Responsibilities
- First-hand opportunity to scale-up a range of technologies to industry-relevant kilogram-plus scales
- Scale-up production of material for sampling and downstream processes
- Prepare analytical samples and routinely conduct quality control (QC) and stage-gate analysis of materials
- Perform preventative maintenance on key equipment
- Act as key contact between the scale-up and operations teams on routine matters such as shipping, waste disposal and facilities issues
- Prepare materials and solutions for projects across scale-up team
Essential
- Degree (BSc/BEng/MChem/MSc/MEng or equivalent) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering + 1 year experience in relevant industrial setting
- Experience in working on scale using jacketed reactor vessels (>10 L) or equivalent
- Experience in carrying out safety assessment of scale-up processes
- The ability to work efficiently on your own or as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and interpersonal skills
- Right to live and work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience in maintaining routine lab/pilot equipment
- Basic engineering knowledge e.g. valves, instruments, connections
Salary range £30,000-£35,000 per annum
