Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.
As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high‑growth phase, we are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to support our Mechanical Design team. In this role, you will contribute to the engineering function in order to further Evolito’s mission.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertake concept and detailed design of components and sub-assemblies of both motor and controller units
Produce 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, supporting calculations (including FEA where applicable) and analysis, material and production methods selection
Contribute to project work including design reviews, DFMEA, liaison with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Test & Verification
Work with Stress and Thermal Analysis Teams to validate designs
Support Senior Engineers with trade studies, first pass mass analysis, and 3D renders for marketing purposes
Support the development of manufacturing processes and novel designs for new technology applications and materials.
Skills and experience required:
A degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
Demonstrated interest in engineering and novel technologies
Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach
A curious mind with the appetite to learn
A 'self-starter' attitude with energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to thrive in a small business environment
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A flexible approach to work.
