Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.
As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help us develop, improve, and support the operations, manufacturing processes and equipment to enable volume production of our products to customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
Evaluating manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, testing, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
Supporting manufacturing demand by relieving bottlenecks and problem-solving production constraints; attending breakdowns and reacting efficiently to escalation from manufacturing teams
Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
Provide manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service
Complete improvement and development projects by training and guiding other members of the team.
Skills and experience required:
Previous proven experience working within a manufacturing environment
Good understanding of continuous improvement methods and lean techniques
Familiar with process techniques and documentation such as FMEAs, process flows, work instructions, control plans etc.
Hands-on experience with bespoke equipment, tooling, and automation
Good understanding of design for assembly and manufacturing constraints for high-volume manufacture
Confident with both internal and external customers and suppliers, able to detail requirements and understand issues
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Creative problem-solving abilities with an analytical approach to implementation,
Results-orientated with the ability to deliver business value
Self-motivated with the determination to succeed
A flexible approach to work with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
Desirable:
A degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
Experience working within an automotive or aerospace Tier 1 environment
Experience using leading Kaizen events and six sigma projects.
