Evolito
Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.
Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.
As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead to lead a core team of Manufacturing Engineers to deliver Evolito products from Design, through industrialisation and into production whilst driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and mentor other Manufacturing Engineers within the team on key industrialisation topics and processes and ensure the team regularly receives the correct level of training and on-the-job learning
Effective team management
Support full life cycle DFX activities working with Design and the relevant Product Development teams to guide and shape products and processes for future rate production
Champion continuous improvement including leading cost of non-quality activities, lessons learnt initiatives and cross-product best practice sharing
Work with Lead Designers and Programme Managers on overall product or programme strategy and at times support discussions with sales and finance teams
Lead Virtual Build events and Production Readiness Reviews and encourage participation and engagement from all business stakeholders
Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and help deliver the Production Schedule to meet business demands
Work closely with the production teams to ensure our designs, assembly processes, production test processes and tooling are fit for purpose and validated to meet production rate requirements
Utilise available digital toolsets to manage the creation of MBOMs, Bill of Processes, Bill of Equipment and Electronic Work Instructions. Develop best practices and ensure standardisation across the Manufacturing Engineering team.
Manage the procurement, installation and commissioning of production equipment and support planning of future facility layouts and capital investment from a technical production perspective
As and when required support customer activities on and off site.
Skills and experience required:
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience
Significant and demonstrable experience leading complex technical products from design into production
Experience of PFMEA and Control Plan development leading to robust process development. You should have experience which includes areas such as optimised cell layout, material handling and ergonomics as well as equipment specification and procurement
Experience of planning of operational layouts and overall efficiencies to suit flexible volume and product manufacturing. An understanding and appreciation of process timing, line balancing and production scheduling.
