Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation.
As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for an Engineering Technician to support and carry out test work on Evolito’s electric motors and associated systems, to support Engineers in the development of our products, as well as carrying out teardown and detailed inspection of Evolito’s electric motors and motor controllers.
Key responsibilities:
- To safely, diligently and methodically undertake the disassembly of motors and propulsion units using hand tools and special jigs and tooling
- To carefully examine items during and after disassembly, accurately documenting findings and results
- To safely and diligently carry out sample and component tests under the supervision of Engineers
- To prepare simple reports of findings and results
- To support the safe and efficient operation of workshop, lab and storage areas
- To construct and safely use simple test fixtures when required for investigation of the behaviour of materials and components.
Skills and experience required:
- At least 2 years experience working in a relevant sector, such as automotive, aerospace, motorsport, precision engineering or research
- Hands-on experience of mechanical assembly and disassembly
- Familiarity with hand tools and workshop equipment
- Experience of setting up and operating test and measurement equipment and following specific operating procedures
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- To practice and promote personal workplace safety and that of others
- Willingness to openly recognise, accept and learn from mistakes
- An enquiring mind, ready to ask: “Why…”, “What if…” and “How…”
- Consistent attention to detail and accuracy in all areas
- A flexible, collaborative and ‘can-do’ attitude
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
